It was incredibly easy to find the Colosseum. I find the streets here much more easy to navigate (plus, it's hard to miss the Colosseum). We were talked into paying a little extra for a guided tour. It was a good idea, really. Most of the time when we find stuff, we never know what it is. So explanations were great.
After spending about an hour touring the Colosseum, we were given a complimentary tour of Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. Again, explanations were excellent. And the view was amazing! Then we walked for a while to find "lunch." We had gelato, and it was AMAZING. It's all I want to eat, ever. Mine was strawberry, and delicious.
It was a gorgeous day. We decided to go back to our hostel and put on shorts. After changing, we attemped to find the Villa Borghese Gardens. They are huge, but were kind of hard to find. Plus, the clouds came out and the sun disappeared. We didn't stay long at the gardens. We returned to our hostel, changed back into jeans, and went to dinner. I had some amazing tortellini. We also had more gelato, but it wasn't as good as my previous gelato. Kind of disappointing.
Then we returned to our hostel for the night. We contemplated going on a pub crawl with fellow hostelers, but couldn't find the motivation. Our days are really exhausting. If Lauren's friend messages her back, we might meet up with her tomorrow. Otherwise, our plans for tomorrow are pretty simple--the Pantheon and the Baths of Caracalla. Hopefully tomorrow will be an easy day!
