We landed in Rome at about 9:20. I'm kind of disappointed--because we flew from one country in the European Union to another, I didn't get an Italy stamp on my passport :( We didn't have to go through customs or anything. It was kind of strange. We just walked out. We took a bus to Termini train station, since that's the area where our hostel is. I had a rough time on the bus. I sat in a seat in front of Lauren, but then decided it might be better if I say BY her. Except I forgot there was a step down, and I kind of wiped out. Definitely have a bruise on my arm from where I ran into the handle on the seat across the aisle. Whoops. Anyway, our hostel is in the center of Rome, which is really nice. We're right near the Colosseum :)
It's also not a bad hostel. Melisa, Lauren, and I share our own room. There is a tv in here, not that we could figure it out. In our kitchen, there is a computer, with free internet. That was really nice. However, I am unable to type the @ symbol. It's on a key with two other symbols, and I can't get the right combination. I guess I'll try again tomorrow!
We went out for lunch after checking in. We found some cheap lunch--I love pizza! We also wandered through some shopping areas, then came back to our hostel for nap. Napping wasn't the best. I slept for about an hour, then read for a while. I'm not in the best mood today, but I'm trying to cheer up. I've always wanted to come to Rome!
After our nap, we walked to the Trevi Fountain. It wasn't too far, and we passed some other pretty fountains along the way. The Trevi fountain was PACKED with people, so we took a few pictures and then left. We got take out for dinner, and ate in our hostel...it was an early night.
