I'm not a huge fan of Fridays. They don't really mean anything here. I think I actually tend to go to bed earlier on Friday nights, so we can get up early for our Saturday adventures. It's a sweet life ;)
Let's see...so, I had class from 11-12. Discussion is usually interesting, and the TA is nice. He does struggle when people don't want to contribute. But the person who had to present was actually here today, so that was good. We talked about Emile Durkheim. Fascinating stuff. He studied suicide, and he wanted social sciences to be studied like the natural sciences, in terms of facts. It's not quite that simple, but it's a very interesting way to look at it. Durkheim thought things like suicide weren't merely personal or psychological, but could be studied as a whole, as a social phenomenon. He looked at the social factors that played a role. While his arguments (and research) had its flaws, it's still a neat concept to think about.
After class, I went to the gym for a little while. After working out, I decided to relax (like every other day really...I've been slacking). I'm currently reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I'm just about done, and then I'm going to need to go back to the library! :) Melisa and I met for dinner, as usual. We have lots of leftovers from our lasagna earlier this week. No meat, since it is Friday.
Tomorrow we're going to Conwy Castle! Someday we'll start exploring things other than castles, but for night now, I'm loving it. Castles are cool. And I like getting out of Bangor for a little while. It's definitely nice. And it's always an adventure to hop on a bus, and hope that we get where we want. Plus we get to explore the towns where the castles are. Hopefully the good weather holds out...it's been rainy the past few days, but our Saturdays have usually been nice. It actually snowed a little bit today, so I'm not too optimistic about the weather. But as long as it isn't TOO cold, or TOO wet, it'll be ok :)
